Added Sugar at Sugar Junction

With my day off I decided to take the opportunity to have a potter around Manchester and visit one of my secret (maybe not so now) hidden vintage gems and take a peak in Retro Rehab. I absolutely love it there, I feel like they carefully select their vintage dresses, bags, shirts, skirts you name it and re-work items that may not be worth selling. As I'm being good I resisted the urge to buy something, maybe next time..

Carrot Cake, Chandelier, Chai Latte, Decor - Sugar Junction, Manchester

Now for the good stuff... I'm doing a vintage project, so when taking a look through Marie Claire this month, I pulled out a page full of vintage recommendations. One of the places on the list was Sugar Junction so I thought I'd check it out.

Located just off Tib Street in the Northern Quarter next to a cute flower shop, it straight away got my vote with it's brick walls and old skool decor. I was given a list of over 25 different teas including traditional teas, infusions and a chalkboard cake menu with lots of treats.
The cake list - yum!
The tea list

I opted for the Chai Latte (I have an addiction, must stop) and carrot cake, they arrived on china with pretty birds and definitely lived up to their reputation. The carrot cake was beautiful, perfect amount of moisture and cream cheese topping and I cant fault the Chai Latte. It was continuously busy with a mix of students, older couples, tourists and people on their own, having quick coffees, teas or lunch. Sometimes it feels a bit odd to sit on your own, but I didn't feel it in there, vintage tunes played in the backgound plus overhearing people's conversations is always interesting!

Pretty bunting and table cloths

Perfect combination - Florence & the Machine and brick walls

The added sugar...
A little bike with a basket - NEED it
Sugar Junction also offer an afternoon tea which I'd love to try and I've already booked us in for December Christmas shopping day, very excited to go back, plus the staff were lovely!

We Ate: I saw we - I ate a slab of carrot cake
We Drank: Chai Latte
We Talked about: Nothing as I was alone, but I did text my sister to tell her how good it was
Selling Point: The decor & the cake!!
