Bat for Eyelashes

This week I've been across the pennines in the thick mist and fog (pretty sh*t scarey I might add) to Manchester fo a Bat for Lashes gig at Manchester Cathedral.
Natasha Khan - Bat for Lashes - Manchester Cathedral
Having been to see them a couple of years ago in Sheffield, I didnt know how fussed I would be to see them again, but the fact they were playing in Manchester Cathedral sold it for me. I don't know many of their songs, but absolutely love their most recent release "Laura" and ever since watching Elbow live in the cathedral I've really wanted to see something there.

Manchester Cathedral

A couple of swift  pints of strawberry beer & cider pre-gig at Sinclairs and The Old Wellington  and we headed on in to the slightly eery atmosphere. Natasha Khan looked super cute with her sharp bob & blunt fringe, her voice was completely flawless and I was intrigued by the eclectic mix of instruments on stage, including one that looked like a metal needle! I was slightly jealous of her cream dress and unlimited energy and can definitely recommend it as a gig venue for acoustics alone!
Bat for Lashes with the magical music box
Later in the set when it got a bit more electro and she broke out some funky moves was my particular favourite aspect combined with the slower songs turned me into a definite fan. She even rocked out her 2009 song Daniel at the end as an encore.

We Ate: Pizza and olives pre-gig
We Drank: Rum & Coke, Strawberry Lager & Cider
We Talked About: One of my best friends new born beautiful twins!!!! Glastonbury, the odd mix of crowd including a man in a thick aran jumper & a couple practically humping!
Selling Point: Great Venue Gig & Voice
