Queen Victoria Night Market draws to a close - Melbourne
A simple pleasure not to be missed, the Queen Victoria Night Market is in its final two weeks closing on 26th March 2014.
What has been a Summer of sunshine, bands, an array of food and not forgetting the delicious sangria, the night market is a Melbourne icon for travellers and dwellers alike. Into its 16th year, the night market runs from 5pm - 10pm offering punters street food from around the world, music and clothing stalls.
Having visited the market a few times over the summer, here are my top tips for visiting the market:
- Take a group of mates - the atmosphere is electric
- Find a spot that you can all head too - parallel to the sangria tent is where you'll find me when I'm lost
- Try a Little Creatures lesson in their learn about beer classes running twice on a Wednesday eve: http://www.qvm.com.au/event/learn-stuff-beer/ . Failing that grab a Little Creatures beer from the bar
- Whatever you fancy food wise, make a quick decision and get in a queue. Wrong decision? There's plenty more food to try if you make the wrong choice
What we ate: Having been there several times I've sampled the following, a kangaroo burger, a sweet and savoury crepe, curry and
What we drank: Sangria! Red or White, whatever your poison.
What we talked about: We've had laughs, said goodbye to friends, taken family - it's been a hoot!
Selling point: I've had a lot of fun with friends at the night market, it's a great place for after work drinks and food, a catch up or a date.
