Buenos Aires is a very very cool city. After visiting in July to meet my Aussie friends for two weeks, it's quickly become one of my favourite cities. Its very creative, with a massive cafe culture, restaurants a plenty, busy bars and clubs that you don't leave until 8am!
With two of my best friends headed off in that direction I decided to pull together some recommendations in a primarily picture based post of the crazy city of BA, Argentina.

So here are just a few of my top tips for the city, there are so many more:
Buy a Time Out Magazine - We got all of our restaurant, cafe and places to go recommendations from the guide - it was the bible and so easy to use!
Go on the Street Art Graffiti Tour - I cannot recommend it enough and now have a new found love for street art, the stories behind the artists and why they create street art. I bought a very cool piece featuring a moustached octopus man... just need a house to put it in!
Get used to eating at ridiculous times and eat steak! - La Cabrera not to be missed and take advantage of their early bird deal it saves you loads. Expect to eat with tourists if you do eat early as locals in Buenos Aires don't eat until about 10pm!
If you can afford it - Stay in an apartment in Palermo, Soho. We felt like we lived there and got chatting to so many friendly people who recommended bars, shops, restaurants and trips. They even took us out most nights! Something we might not have had the experience of doing if we'd have stayed in a hostel the whole time.
Drink Malbec - I wasn't lucky enough to have time to go to Mendoza, but I'm now a converted red wine drinker thanks to this Argentinian drop of goodness
Visit San Telmo - Bought some gorgeous hand made jewellery here & a famous soda bottle. Have a haggle but try not to buy ridiculous items (had to stop myself buying a gramophone and had it shipped back).
See a Tango Show - There are lots on the streets of Buenos Aires especially in La Boca, but we visited Cafe Tortini one of the oldest Cafes in the city for a true Tango experience with a Pisco Sour to boot
Befriend the locals - Honestly our best bar choices came from some of the friends we made, just ask! Everyone in BA wants you to have a good time!.
Here is a little list of restaurants and bars I can recommend although two weeks was not enough to sample everything...
Restaurants:
Oui Oui & Pami - Cutesy Cafes in Palermo with pretty decor, perfect for people with a sweet tooth
Dada - Serving traditional food & yummy cocktails with a cosy atmosphere - no need to get really dressed up
Sattva - Vegetarian Restaurant with brick walls and beams (love)
Tegui - We kept trying to get in here but we kept ringing on the only day it was shut. The food was apparently amazing (Open Tues - Sun FYI)
Central Market - At the Puerto Madero, perfect for a stop off lunch whilst taking in the sites and bars around the port
Bars:
Belushi - In the heart of Palermo, recommended to us by a very interesting but lovely couple
Frank's Bar - Sounds like an old man's pub. It's really not! Went here on my first night in BA, granted I was a bit wappy from the flight but the decor was funky and cocktails nice!
Post St Bar - The final stop off on the graffiti tour - The inside artwork blew my mind even though the food wasn't great!
Clubs:
Niceto Club - For Club 69 - just crazy, I've never experienced anything like that in my life!
Kika - Funky little club with a mix of tourists and Palermo-ites, students etc
Pacha - A little further out, but worth a visit
We Ate: Steak, Homemade meals in our apartment, Cake, Salmon Risotto, Vegetable Burritos, guacamole, Choripan (traditional sausage sandwich)
We Drank: Coffees, Malbec, Vodka Lime and Sodas, Mental Long Island Ice Teas in the Hostel, Vodka and Speed (BA version of Red Bull) We Talked about: Anything, everything, life and all as we know it. Plus the extremely forward Argentinian men - Other nationalities take note!
Selling Point: This city has such an amazing vibe, can't even describe it until you've been but it's great for a party!
Ahh I miss it already... x
